Time magazine columnist Mark Thompson proposed Haiti to become the 51st state after the 2010 earthquake. The massive earthquake devastation prompted a quick and widespread response from the United States. The US military quickly used Haitian air and sea ports to provide aid.

Demography of Greenland

     Total population of Greenland is ~59,300 people, out of which 31,390 are men and 27,910 are women.  Approximately 26 percent of the population is 14 years old or younger, while just 6 percent is 65 years and older.  Life expectancy is just shy of 70 years.  The Inuit make up about 990 percent of the population and the rest are of Danish or other Nordic heritage.  The first Vikings were Pagan, but Leif Erikson had converted them to Catholicism.  One of the main reasons as to why recolonization had happened, was to bring the Protestant reformation to the land.  Most of the country is estimated to be Lutheran although the traditional religion of the Inuit is shamanism.

 In international law, Puerto Rico is considered an unincorporated territory associated with the United States. One feature of this territory in constitutional and international law, as defined in the US insular cases, “appurtenant and belonging to the United States, but is not part of the United States within the revenue clauses of the Constitution”. Puerto Rico’s official government label is as a Commonwealth. The Commonwealth status does not describe or provide for any specific political status or relationship between the United States. It has been applied to states and territories in the past but when used in connection with areas under US sovereignty that are not states, the term describes an area that is self-governing under a constitution of its adoption and limited right of self-government will not be unilaterally withdrawn by congress.
