Migrant crisis

 The Republican-controlled US Senate has approved a bill to send aid to the border with Mexico, as the image of a drowned migrant family shocked the US.

It earlier rejected a rival aid bill from the Democratic-led House of Representatives imposing restrictions on US immigration agencies.

Lawmakers in both chambers now face pressure to reconcile the two bills.

Reports of migrant deaths, poor detention conditions and neglected child detainees have shaped the debate.

  Poland has historically been staunchly pro-American, beginning with the participation of General Tadeusz Kosciuszko and Casimir Pulaski in the American Revolution. This pro-American position was reinforced by the favorable American intervention in World War I (which led to the creation of an independent Poland) and the Cold War (which culminated in the creation of a Polish state independent of Soviet influence). Poland has made a great contribution to the "Coalition of the Willing" in Iraq. The quote, which calls Poland the "51st State", is attributed to James Pavitt, then Deputy Director of Operations for the Central Intelligence Agency, especially in connection with the extraordinary rendition.

  Today, the "fifty-first states" are territories that are dependent on the United States or directly want to become part of the United States. In this presentation, we will not be talking about the counties that want to become states. Our goal is to find out why the "fifty-first states" exist at all. Mexico In 1847–48, with the United States occupying Mexico at the conclusion of the Mexican–American War, there was talk in Congress of annexing the entirety of Mexico. The result was the Mexican Cession, also called the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo for the town in which the treaty was signed, in which the U.S. annexed over 40% of Mexico.
