Fauna of Greenland

The island doesn’t have many species of animals living on it and the ones that do exist can be divided into two categories: those native to the land, and those introduced by people.  This is a list of some of the most prominent species.

Native species: Polar bear, barren-ground caribou, muskox, Arctic fox, Arctic wolf, etc.

Domesticated (introduces):

By the Inuit: dogs

By the Danes: goats, sheep, oxen, and pigs.
